For this project, a total of 25 historic murals were conserved for Evolving Planet, the new Field Museum exhibit that covers 4 billion years of geologic time. In 2004, Parma evaluated these murals, which were painted by renown artist Charles Knight. Museum records indicated that the murals had been cleaned years before, and that they were given periodic starch treatments. The murals were treated on location at the Field Museum, due to their ennormous size. An entire exhibition hall was converted into a conservation studio for the treatment of twenty-five (25) "dinosaur" murals, painted by the celebrated artist, Charles Knight. | |
