Old Masters Paintings are those which were produced by great European and American artists between 1500 and 1800. These paintings possess a mastery of technique and materials that captivate connosseiurs and experts alike.

The conservation of Old Masters' works is a delicate undertaking. Though they often appear to have been created with 'one toss' of the brush, they are often constructed from several thin layers, painstakingly rendered to give the illusion of light and space. These paintings require the respect of a well experienced conservator, who has years of specialized training. See also, Projects in Italy , and About Parma Conservation.
